Transformer oil leakage
There are two main reasons for leakage: on the one hand, there are problems left in the transformer design and manufacturing process; on the other hand, leakage is caused by improper installation and maintenance of the transformer. The main leakage parts of transformers often appear in radiator interfaces, flat butterfly valve caps, bushings, porcelain bottles, welds, blisters, flanges and other parts.
This article details transformer oil leakage from the following two perspectives:
Analysis and discussion on the problem of oil leakage from transformers
Transformer leakage is mainly concentrated in the following parts: the parts accounting for more than 50% of the total leakage points are radiator interfaces, flat butterfly valve caps, radiator bulkheads, and connecting flange seals; 16% are casing and porcelain bottle leaks; 12% It is leakage from the gas relay interface. In addition, there are some defects in the transformer manufacturing process, such as welds, blisters, etc.
1. Treatment of oil leakage at welding points
Causes of the problem:
Mainly due to poor welding quality, there are weak welds, desoldering, pinholes, blisters and other defects in the welds. When the transformer leaves the factory, it is covered with welding flux and paint, and the hidden dangers will be exposed after operation. In addition, electromagnetic vibration will cause welding vibration. crack, causing leakage.
way of solving the problem:
For leaks that have already occurred, first find the leak point and do not miss it. It needs to be cleaned continuously, the source of leakage can be found along the oil traces, and the leakage point can be sealed with water-oil compatibility supplement. After curing, the purpose of long-term leakage control can be achieved.
2. Oil leakage from cast iron parts
Cause of the problem:
The main cause of oil leakage is blisters and cracks in cast iron parts.
way of solving the problem:
① For crack leakage, drilling crack relief holes is a method to eliminate stress and avoid extension. During treatment, lead wire can be driven into the leaking point or riveted with a hand hammer according to the crack situation. Then use acetone to clean the leakage point, and seal it with water and oil compatibility supplement and titanium steel glue.
3. Radiator oil leakage
Reasons for the problem:
The heat pipe of the radiator is usually made of seamed steel pipe after being flattened and stamped. Oil leakage often occurs in the bent and welded parts of the heat pipe. This is because when the heat pipe is stamped, the outer wall of the pipe is under tension and the inner wall is under pressure. , caused by the existence of residual stress.
Technical problem solving methods:
After determining the leakage site, perform appropriate surface treatment. First, use titanium steel glue for rapid sealing for sealing treatment. After solidification, use water-oil compatible repair agent for reinforcement.
4. Oil leakage at flange connection
Causes of the problem:
The flange surface is uneven, the fastening bolts are loose, and the installation process is incorrect, resulting in poor tightening of the bolts and aging and cracking of the seals, causing oil leakage.
Technical problem solving methods:
After tightening the loose bolts first, use a water-oil compatible repair agent to seal the bolts, and then deal with the leaking flange surface to achieve complete control. Tighten loose bolts,
5. Oil leakage from seals
Causes of the problem:
The reason for poor sealing is that usually the seal between the box edge and the box cover is sealed by an oil-resistant rubber rod or rubber gasket. If the joints are not properly handled, oil leakage will occur. Due to installation reasons, the interface cannot be pressed firmly and the effect cannot be achieved. The sealing effect is still oil leakage.
Technical problem solving methods:
Water-oil compatible repair agent is used for bonding, so that the joints are integrated and the oil leakage phenomenon is greatly controlled; if the operation is convenient, the metal shell can also be bonded at the same time, including the bolt parts, to achieve the purpose of leakage control.
6. Oil leakage from bolt or pipe threads
Causes of the problem:
The processing was rough and the sealing was poor when leaving the factory. Oil leakage occurred after the transformer was sealed for a period of time.
Technical problem solving methods:
Use water-oil compatible repair agent to seal the bolts to control leakage.
7. Oil leakage from porcelain bottles and glass oil standards
Causes of the problem:
Usually caused by improper installation or seal failure. Leak points usually exist at the intersection between the porcelain bottle and the base
Technical solution: Use water-oil compatible repair agent and reinforcing tape to wrap and seal the leakage point as a whole
