What is the difference between galvanized steel pipe and hot-dip galvanized steel pipe?
1. Different working methods
Galvanized steel tube: The zinc in cold-dip galvanized steel pipe is zinc obtained through electroplating at room temperature.
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe: The zinc in hot-dip galvanizing is obtained at 450 degrees Celsius to 480 degrees Celsius.
2. Different adhesion
The adhesion of cold-dip galvanized steel pipes is much worse than that of hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, because the steel pipe matrix and zinc layer of cold-dip galvanized steel pipes exist independently. The zinc layer is very thin and is simply attached. On top of the steel pipe base, the cold-dip galvanized steel pipe can easily fall off.
3. Different processes
Galvanized steel pipe: Using electroplating process, only the outer wall of the steel pipe is galvanized, and the inner wall of the steel pipe is not galvanized.
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe: Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe uses the hot-dip galvanizing process. The inner and outer walls of the steel pipe have zinc layers. The state has made relevant regulations that cold-dip galvanized steel pipes cannot be used as gas pipes and water pipes. The corrosion resistance of galvanized steel is too poor, and the zinc layer can easily fall off. Its use has been banned by the country due to potential safety hazards.
