Cold-rolled steel coil

Cold rolled steel is hot-rolled steel that has been cleaned of iron oxide scale (pickled) and reduced to a specific thickness through a series of rolling stands (tandem mill) or passed back and forth through a reversing rolling mill. The steel can be heated to controlled temperatures (annealing) depending on mechanical property requirements, and final rolled to the desired thickness.

It must be annealed to restore its mechanical properties, and those without annealing are called hard rolled coils. Hard-rolled coils are generally used to make products that do not require bending or stretching, and those with a thickness of less than 1.0 are rolled on both sides or four sides with good luck.

Cold-rolled sheet in coil form is produced by removing rust from hot-rolled sheet by “pickling” it in a weak acid solution, then washing, brushing, drying, oiling and unrolling the sheet and finally performing cold-rolling by passing the sheet through a reducing mill under pressure and winding it into a roll.
